I don't watch it but know lots of people that do. It's something for the 'little' person to be recognised.
agree that it's a bit drawn out, but one of our wonderful local Lifeboat guys was honoured tonight and so I am watching it......
I have sat with a smile on my face since it started. Love it.
I take my hat off to the recipients but it isn't a programme I want to watch.
Ditto, the recipients deserve it, the sycophants of celebs in the audience do not, even if they are 'invited'.....
Is the Vord presenting it?
I can't abide carol vorderman so I've never watched it, but from what I can gather its mawkish, maudlin and over sentimental. No thanks!
I watched a few minutes of it but don't like CV either. She looked so false and stiff in that big dress.
She loves herself, doesn't she.
I'm with elliemay and lyndab on this one
I heard an Ad for it on the radio by some "pop star" from The Wanted saying.."It's not about the celebrities"... Really?
Is that the only opera song that Paul Potts knows?
I don't think that the celebrities are at all interested in the 'ordinary' people. They just like to be seen.
Have you been forced to watch this then? I have visions of a Clockwork Orange type scenario!
Great that heroic actions are recognised but should not be in programmmes like this.

Think why I did not watch it was because in previous day paper there were so call stars pictured in their finest .What had that to do with what the night was about .If you go to a wedding you don't try to upstage the bride Like everything else when you get "celebs " involved then it becomes just a farce. Lots of these people just crave attention so it is up to us when and if we give them this attention .Id rather be on answer bank where real people are . Just an opinion.
I agree, I don't like it either. I can't really explain why, perhaps there is too much gushing and sentimentality, it's so over the top it's embarrassing.
I don't watch anything with carol vorderman *sp. in it. :(
I thought it was wonderful, especially the children and the 91 year old lady that has raised so much money for charity and continues to do so.
Question Author
No question the wonderful people are deserving of praise but is this the way to do it .Expect the makers decided it would be a great "honour" for these faces to be there .I don't agree I would rather if an award was to be presented it should be by someone who fully understands the effort made by the good people.
