What was the name of the supposed mountaineer, mystic and spy that Roy Plomley interviewed for Desert Island Discs as an April Fool's joke in 1963?

aleister crowley the black magician was a mountaineer, {climbed k2} a mystic { into all sorts of mystical magical systems and spied for th germans in  ww1. he put out propaganda for them and was linked to the thule socirty and the oto.

Thanks Golden Boy - I see that Aleister Crowley died in 1947 but could have still been the April Fool's Day joke.

Can you advise if your answer is based on knowledge that this was the April Fool's Day joke played by Roy Plomley; or that Crowley fits the criteria but may/may not be the actual answer?

ra, i don't know anything about the april fools joke, i just read a biog of crowley, but i think in 1963 he still held a element of fear and fascination to the general public, so maybe thats why it was chosen.
