In really awful holiday wear and very orange make up.... ... maybe in terms of how the English behave abroad in both clichés and reality...
You could write a seaside postcard from each of the characters, telling of some incident they have been involved in. Call it 'Wish You Were Here.'
Have you watched it? I wouldn't know where to start, I'm really surprised this is considered good TV to review.
i'd have said this was one hell of a poisoned chalice of an assignment.

but the other answers above are right - highlight stereotypical brits abroad and their behavior.
I have never watched it, by the way, Megan. Have you been given a choice of different programmes?
I thought this was a programme targeted at adults and scheduled accordingly.

It is a worrying choice of assignment for a class of 12yr olds.
Have to agree with Rowanwitch, I live in Ibiza and the all inclusive Brits are so like that, although worse sometimes, we've had to deal with many a case of child neglect/abuse when the parents get completely drunk on the freebies and the kids are left to wander, to get into mischief, or just are too young to look after themselves. The Benidorm is half way decent!
that's terrible netti
Prudie- inE the current English Language GCSE one of the controlled Assessment essays is based on the Jeremy Kyle show
Factor all I can say is I'm gobsmacked - not allowed to pass judgement.
Jeremy Kyle is shown outside the watershed, I'm not sure that Benidorm is?

Happy to be corrected on the timing of Benidorms airing but it does seem a strange choice of programme for a class of twelve year olds to have their homework based upon.
Totally agree Eccles
I am uneasy with something like Benidorm being used given its content.
Having said that, I doubt many parents would stop 12 year olds from watching it, and schools cover Romeo and Juliet and that includes sex and marriage involving a 14 year old I recall
I understand where you are coming from re Romeo & Juliet Factor.

My reservations lie with a school choosing a programme that is not considered appropriate for viewers aged under fifteen, asuming I am correct in my belief that it is aired after 21.00hrs
All I can suggest, megan, is that you say that it's about a group of people on holiday in Benidorm, and all the things which happen to them - and ask your classmates how many of them have had those sort of experiences when they are on holiday! It's like any soap opera - emphasise that the story line is for the audience, not many real people who have all those disasters in a couple of weeks!
Boxtops the tourists do have many disasters when here in Spain. They lose passports, children, get mugged you name it, it happens.
