Terrier's Injury
12 Answers
My 14 yr old cross border terrier injured himself coming downstairs yesterday morning, I didn't see this but heard him yelp. He was dragging one back leg for a while but seemed to recover movement after a while and was OK, even going outside. During the night he'd been up and down stairs but this morning both back legs are weak and he's very unsteady. Doesn't seem to be in much pain though. Of course this would happen on A Sunday, vet is emergencies only. Any ideas please?

He was a lovely sparky little dog, a real pleasure to own, we are absolutely wrecked tonight, but we have another dog and 2 cats to keep us going.

Thanks everybody for your kind words, I know that it was the best thing to do for him but it was hard. He's the third dog we've had, the other two just died naturally at home, we still have another dog to keep us going!!
And we've had loads of cats as well, (2 at present) but when they die it's never easy is it?
Thanks again. I won't nominate a best answer for this sad posting but I'm sure that you all know how I feel.

Oh corylus, I'm so very sorry to hear your sad news. I used to have a border terrier and had to have her put down when she was ten. She had cancer and the prognosis was dire. It was the best thing to do, I KNOW, but it was the hardest decision I ever had to make. My sympathies to you and your family. I hope you continue to get joy and happiness from your other animals. I'm sure you will. xx
