Sorry, that's Inspector De Luca...BBC Four will be showing a new four-part Italian series based on the novels by Carlo Lucarelli, and set in and around Bologna during Mussolini's dictatorship.
"Inspector De Luca is a clever and hugely entertaining drama that portrays wartime Italy in a way that is both very familiar to our own war time experiences and intriguingly foreign."
Thanks for the information. I'm afraid I didn't like the Italian films - Montalbano and another one, was it him when he was younger - I have much preferred the Scandinavian films.
I'll give it a go, anyway.
I felt a bit flat after the last episode. What happened to De Wolf, did he survive?
I assume the armed police were going to arrest the Salamander group but I only recognised Gerardi of the three who looked to be in charge.
I suppose that after all the tension which had built up during all the episodes it is difficult to please everyone with the final outcome.
The secret police with an overweight Vic Adams et al and a cleanshaven Paul went to arrest the Salamander group (hurrah, at last!)
De Wolf was either mortally wounded or arrested after recovering. The last shot (no pun intended) of the unhappy family gathering, excluded him but only showed Patricia's grave...
