I have declared a non-interest in 'Big Brother' previously, but I feel I must come to the aid of Jade. Her looks are not of her choosing, but she is not 'ugly' in the accepted sense, despite media efforts to convince the viewing public otherwise. As to her lack of education - which is what she exhibits, rather than 'stupidity', remember, BB is edited carefully to present a certain image of each individual, and in Jade's case, she has been deemed to be the 'thick' housemate for this series. I think she is rather young, and aware she is out of her depth intellectually, but this does not make her any less of an individual than anyone else presented to the public by this means. We can all sit at home and feel superior because Jade lacks general knowledge in certain areas, but let's not forget, we could all be similarly exposed in similar conditions. The moral high ground is a crowded place, but that doesn't mean we can look down on the Jades of this world because we choose ot occupy a piece of it.

Gotta agree with Andy here. I've read that from the age of about 9, she was the main carer in her family - no dad, alcoholic mother. Whilst ignorance isn't laudable, it would appear that she has some eminently admirable qualities in her. I think she's quite a tragic character from what I've heard - I don't want to watch it either.

The trouble is people's looks, particular female's is a touchy area, I tend to agree with them, MarcsOnFire. Perhaps she should start using Answerbank when she comes out...!

OK MarcsOnFire, but now you realise that irony or humour does not always translate into print read by people who don't know you, or your intention. The Answerbank is a Q & A Site, so if you 'ask' a Q, you often get one, or several A's to go with it - you really can't blame people for having no sense of humour when you appear to side with a national media character assasination of an innocent young woman who's only wrong-doing appears to be applying to appear on a reality TV show. Humour is a welcome addition to any debate, so long as everyone knows when to take you seriously - and when not!

Well, it could be said that she has asked for intense media attention by appearing on Big Brother. What I found most offensive was her lack of knowledge of anything outside of London - thinking, for example, that if Cambridge wasn't in London, then it must be in Tunisia (because that's where East Anglia is, apparently). Yeah, people have been a bit harsh on her - particularly with the Miss Piggy email currently doing the rounds - but surely she should have some idea of the world around her.
