Applying For A New Job In The Company You Left
Situation: job(s) outsourced to far way, but offered "new" roles (internally). Refused new role and took a pay off (like a redundancy package). The new roles are not filled internally and the company has to advertise externally, what is the law that stops people who took a pay off reapplying, can the company legally word the job spec to stop ex employees applying ?

There are a lot of myths surrounding this area of employment law; such as there being an applicable time limit etc.
The reality of the situation is that there is nothing stopping you taking a job with your old employer who made you redundant. However if the tax office takes the view that the arrangement whereby your employment was terminated and you were re-hired was purely to enable your employer to make a tax free payment to you – then they can insist that you pay the applicable tax on the money.

There isn't one. I know people who have been redundant from two places where I've worked, then have applied for revised roles. I believe there is a period of a few weeks before you can start work again, but it's not very long. There is nothing to stop you reapplying, if the location of the new jobs now suits you.
