I've got mine, too. Rosemary and garlic for us. I'm going to make a ratatouille to go with it, along with asparagus and P.S.B...................oh and Jersey Royals.............and a bottle of Rioja.
I`ve never cooked it before as I don`t eat much red meat but am going to give it a go. I don`t know what I`m going to do with it yet but we`ll have roast potatoes, cabbage, sprouts, onion sauce and a bottle of Taittinger (£20 at Sainsburys - a bargain as it`s usually about £37)
I have no idea what I'm having on Sunday. I'll probably be going to my parents for dinner but don't know what my mum has got in lunch. If I don't go to them it'll probably be a ready meal. I'm becoming more and more lazy when it comes to food and prepping it.
I was just looking at lamb cooking tips on the internet and there was a recipe on bbc food for lamb with garlic and rosemary and red wine gravy. Would the garlic be a bit overpowering? Likewise - red wine gravy. I`ve only had that with beef. Does it work with lamb?
I am having whole chicken in a casserole - first time doing this - served with my own stuffing, creamed and roast potatoes. Also doing boiled peas.
Boiled about a pound of them last week - greedy sod that I was - had them with salt and vinegar on their own and with potatoes - did I suffer with wind. Sister had green cabbage of which I am not too fussed.
Surely Scrivens you could have a wee ready meal. JJCon
I bought a rack of lamb last week too (in the freezer) got the butcher to bone it and I had a cuppla chops from it (absolutely divine) - probably do it next Sunday after Easter.
I am enjoying Easter and not getting stressed out at all as I do with Xmas - no commercialism with it - just a few wee pressies to the kids - don't do Easter eggs for kiddies as they get too much and it hypes them up!!! JJCon
