The first step is to save the file onto your PC's hard drive. There are loads of programs and browser extensions which can do it but some work better than others. I suggest using Firefox as your browser:
http://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/new/
together with the Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express add-on:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/easy-youtube-video-download/

Once you've saved the file to your hard drive you can then launch whatever disc-burning software you've got on your computer and burn the file onto a DVD-R disc (taking care to select the option to create a video DVD, not a data one).
Yes it is possible to record You Tube Videos, and there are items of software which will enable one to do it. However, as pointed-out by Buenchico, it is in effect illegal.

Google owns YouTube and has the ability to track the computer to which a download has gone. However, whether it can track the actual location of the computer involved is still open to question.

If you have a TV with a USB port just save the video to a memory stick and hey presto, it's what I do.

Hi, Many thanks for all your answers, they have been very helpful. I can use the memory stick tip on my home TV, but unfortunately I have found that not all TVs have a USB port. I will try to burn a disc using the info supplied, when I get some spare time.
Peace & Love, Zubar.
