Eurovision Song Contest

I'm watching it at present and actually think that it is better this year, I thought that the transvestite was really good, also Sweden's entry, but one thing I'm really impressed by is the staging and lighting - I imagine that is all computerized nowadays but very clever all the same. We haven't got as far as Molly yet, but I do think that there is some good songs this year.

As usual I don't think the best song/singer won but then it rarely does IMO. I do think a lot of the votes for Austria were given to make a point, in a 'lets show Europe what an inclusive, open minded and modern country we are' way! and as a protest against the one or two countries that did have a problem with Conchita. Personally I couldn't care less what the performers look like, it's what they sound like that is important, it is a song contest after all.
They say that "the show isn't over until the fat lady sings"
Well last night one could say "the show was over when the bearded lady sang".(well it was for me anyway).
What was this all about it turned the show into some kind of fairground freak show.
The way he/she was sobbing at the end, comforted by his/her companions was stomach churning, and even the Austrian spokesperson who announced Austria's votes deemed it necessary to don a false beard. Perhaps it may catch on and we can look forward to our celebrity conscious young women to go around in false beards.
The young singer who brought out a razor had the right idea.
As for Graham Norton he was next to useless with his mumblings, what input he gave to the show escapes me.

I see that on one of the other threads people were asking who Molly Smeeton Downs is, and I think that is a valid question - I would like to see GB allowed to make a choice again - I have only heard this song twice before the competition, and think that the Brtish public should have some say in the matter. Or alternatively find out what Gary Barlow is doing this time next year.
