Were women attracted to this character? Or did they just think he was a pillock?

Just come to me,I think it's the guy in the Bombadier adverts.

it was a JOKE
That, or to give him his name, the late Rik Mayall.
com on lady... Phwah!

A joke? In Blackadder?

No one has said they fancied him yet.
As woofy has said it was a joke.

The character was supposed to be a caricature of what women were supposed to find attractive in a 'real man' at the time.
Do you mean in real- life? His character was a pillock, but meant to be.
I quite fancied Rik Mayall for a while- but not as Flashheart.

I think the character in the beer advert may have been based on Flasheart but was also referncing Flashman - which maybe the original Flasheart was doing, but in doublet and hose.
His seduction technique is yet to be bettered.
RIP Rik.
