I know I'm being silly but I was watching family guy last night where Brian died and Stewey was in mourning about him.

Thankfully in the end he went back in time and saved Brians life but I couldn't shake stewies sadness the whole night.

Ring of Bright Water, yes - really upset me, not just the death but the circumstances.

Books make me cry more than films - I read ROBW as a book, not seen the film. In "The Way to Minack", the author's old cat died peacefully - that had me in bits.

Cartoon - Nobody's Boy. Bit where woman running along riverbank calling "come back Remy". Defy anyone to not be affected by this very sad film.

Oh yes - you have reminded me of reading Watership Down.... my problem also is that I can't help myself going back and reading the sad bits again and again, too :-(

I agree Tigger, that song always gets me too, I was driving driving down the road the other day and Hungry Eyes (Dirty Dancing) came on the radio and I just started crying, absolutely no idea why. I need a word with myself ;)

Definitely Watership Down when the old rabbit died at the end and he went off into the spirit world, filling up now just thinking about it ! Will never watch Bambi or Dumbo because I know I'll be an absolute wreck.

When I was younger I used to cry during Lassie and Benjy films, also Dot and the Kangaroo, Born Free and Bambi.
As an adult, not many films or TV programmes make me cry (unless it's abused animals on things like The Dog Rescuers, which had me in tears most weeks). The exception is Beaches - I end up an emotional basket case every time I watch it. I imagine I shall probably cry the next time I watch Dead Poets Society too, but that will be more for the loss of Robin Williams rather than the film itself.

The Bridges of Madison County has me in floods every time I watch it. I sit there willing her to jump out of the truck and drive off into the night with the man she truly loves, must have seen it dozens of times and it still has the same effect.
