An apology: Sorry I missed last week's Bake Off Thread. I will submit to whatever punishment suggested by the eager baking crowd...

... but not before watching episode 4 of GBBO!

This week they tackle desserts. They'll have to multi-task several of their skills at once with the show-stopper being the cake which Sarah Palin can see from her house: Baked Alaska.

They're also on pudding and tiramisu duty!

It's been a long day:

Also, I heard a rumour that someone is actually a professional baker in the comp. Any ideas who?

Also, it is probably time to start taking polls on who is going to get kicked out this week :) who do you reckon?

NOTICE TO GRUMPY PEOPLE: If you are posting here to complain about the Great British Bake Off being on again, how "boring" you find it, or to ask "what's the point" you will be suspended. This is fair warning. To be absolutely clear: we don't care what you think about GBBO :)

She was probably booted off after they saw the first rubs of the show.
Runs!
Diana today defended herself in an interview with her local radio station saying:

"We were 12 amateur bakers, no prize money involved. Why would I want to sabotage Iain's Baked Alaska? Iain does not hold me responsible for his failed ice cream. He rang me three days ago to warn me that the knives were out."
How would he have known three days ago? it didn't air til last night.

Good point. It was filmed in the spring so Iann might have been to a pre-screening...
All sounds a bit whiffy to me TBH.
I still think THAT look on her face said it all.
the papers get a prescreening so their critics can write their pieces, I guess the papers contacted Iaian for a quote.
Ah, that might explain it then Woofy.

Communications watchdog Ofcom could launch an investigation into The Great British Bake Off’s “bingate” row after viewers complained about the alleged sabotage of contestant Iain Watters’ baked alaska.

The bearded baker lost his cool when his pudding melted after rival contestant Diana Beard took it out of the freezer – leading Watters to throw it in the bin.

The controversy whipped up anger among viewers who accused Beard of sabotaging the pudding, and she quit the show due to ill health just after the episode was filmed.

A baker’s dozen – 13 – viewers have complained to Ofcom with 12 of them concerned at the apparent sabotage of Watters’ dessert, and 811 have complained directly to the BBC.

Iain speaking on BBC’2s Newsnight, when asked if he would be making a comeback, teased viewers by saying: “You will have to watch next week.”
