Anyone else think that last nights voting was a complete shambles and so cruel to the contestants.

yup....not nice viewing..
yes i agree .why can't they just get them to sing and then tell them who has got through instead of the awful seat thing.
And who are the judges - Simon Cowell and Co. or the audience?
I would say it is all planned out before hand, and nothing excites the crowd more than controversy. It all seems over scripted to me. No I don't go much on it.
Don't know what all the fuss is about with the judges as none of the contestants are any good this year .
Totally agree with Ratter, it's all staged to make for 'exciting' TV and peed me off, I don't know why I watched it really.
That girl with the massive hair (fleur east?) can't sing a note by the way.
I think its very cruel.
I normally say 'they know what they are signing up for' but last night was really cruel, judges keep changing their minds because of the baying crowd. Horrible.
It was particularly cruel, and made for very uncomfortable viewing. I thought Cheryl was indecisive, but Louis was useless.
It was a non-violent version of gladatorial combat, utterly vile.

The plans are laid in advance - Louis Walsh is about as good an actor as he is a judge, but the constant too-ing and froing with young peoples' dreams was nothing short of cruel.

It's not quite bear baiting, but the mean-spirited approach is right up there.

Wendilla......Don't know what all the fuss is about with the judges as none of the contestants are any good this year.

Sorry Wendilla I cannot agree with you as I think there are some excellent contestants. However I do agree with Prudie's statement about Fleur east.
thought that long haired girl would have argued with the judges ,i couldn't stand her
We turned it off, totally scripted and becoming sillier by the week. It used to be quite good when they just did an audition and either went through or not,now its just got ridiculous.
I think that even the audience is prompted to scream and shout like they do!!
RATTER it has been proved that the screaming and applause, to a large extent, is 'canned' and added afterwards.
wendilla - "Don't know what all the fuss is about with the judges as none of the contestants are any good this year ."

I don't think the quality of the contestants is the issue here.

When young people are manipulated in this shameless and calculated way to excite an audience onto braying and whooping while the contestants weep and tremble is deeply uneddifying television.

People should not be despised and taken advantage of because their dreams can be mocked as unrealistic - it's cruel.
Is this really what the teens want to see? I think it may actually be appealing to them, most of them will believe exactly what they see.
A bit like the good looking boy bands, weather they can sing or not, they will sell millions and earn Simon Cowell £millions in promotional junk and intervews without hardly singing a song!!!
Ratter....my teens are too busy to watch it.
RATTER15 - "Is this really what the teens want to see?"

Absolutely it is - along with a vast swathe of the viewing public - check out the viewing figures!
Regardless of how many viewers it gets or how much money is made on the back of it, it's garbage, pure and simple.
The Jeremy Kyle show without the class.
