He phoned the police to say he would return, then phoned his wife as he had someone who wanted to speak to her...

He rang the police protector and said he was on his way back and then it showed him getting onto the motorway or ring road and calling Ros to say he had someone who would like to speak to her. That was it, ended a bit abruptly I thought.
