Lord Downton's dog is called Isis

Downton Abbey = Highclere Hall, home of Lord Carnarvon of King Tut fame so having a well bred mutt named after Osiris' spouse is OK

Big temple at Philae ( not to the dog but to Isis )

But now, look ! ISIS is a terrorist organisation, so how unsuitable to have a Lords dog named after that . Ok I suppose Ess-ess would be even worse

So Isis is on his way out, poor pooch

Why can't they suddenly announce that they had the gender of the dog wrong and be forced to rename it?

Poor dog is being fired because of its name in a drama. I hope that it gets some sort of severance package.

I read (somewhere) that the dog is on the old side - I think that they are merely using this fact to help justify getting rid of it.

Maybe the Animal Rights campaigners will get involved. I wonder what they would have made of a dog called Laddie playing a dog called Lassie? !
