Shawshank Redemption

One of my favourite films but I have wondered over the years how did Andy Dufresne get the poster of Raquel Welch back over the hole after crawling through it?  Anyone got any ideas, there does not seem to be an explanation in the film or am i just being thick

I always presumed it was just tacked at the top two corners, leaving it kinda like a  flap for him to crawl through- no?

thanks boo i know what you mean but in that case when Warden Norton threw a rock at it the poster would not have been rigid enough to tear in the middle.  I think I am just looking at this too deeply and it certainly does not diminish my admiration for this fantastic film.  Suppose i need to just put it down to poetic licence

Maybe it goes into more detail in the book michsnook?Have never read it myself.I agree,it's an absolutely brilliant film.We saw it in the cinema,and nobody else had seemed to have heard of it at the time,and I was raving about it!

I find it very hard to believe that Andy spent 20 years making a hole only covered by a psoter without being noticed.  A good film though.   But maybe someone can answer me this.   I saw the film on video some years back.  I bought the 10th anniversary edition on DVD a few moths ago.  I am sure its shorter than the video.   At the end when Red meets Andy after his parol.  I am sure Red said hes evoking his parol by meeting Andy. AM I imagining it
