I am female, fat and have Bipolar Disorder - according to the reports I should be incandescent with rage over these outfits.

I am not. Some of them are funny and are not supposed to be taken seriously.

Was there not a similar story last year about a escaped loony from the loony hospital? I think that there are too many people being offended on behalf of others.

Perhaps it is the naming that is the problem.

If you label a silence of the lambs suit (presumable because of copyright issues) a mental suit then I think there may be a problem.

Label the same suit as simply a halloween suit and there is no issue.

Mental illness is one of those things that people dont understand which then translates into fear and ridicule. I really dont think we need to exacerbate the situation by lableing halloween masks like this.

I would agree entirely, and yes we did have this exact debate this time last year.

You cannot legislate for taste among the general public - one man's offensive costume is another man's wonderful giggle.

it is entirely a matter of choice.

I find all three offensive, but since i won;t be anywhere near where any of them may be worn, it's not a big deal - i register my offence simply because the question was raised.
