Now Mortified At What I Did At The Doctors

My daughter has been in hospital for epilepsy tests and after they took her off her meds she had some tremendous fits. When I went to pick her up on Friday she had lost her memory and didn't know who I was.She seemed to have had her memory completely wiped. The consultant said has this happened before after I replied no he said you can leave her for another night but I don't know what good it will do.I have had a terrible weekend with her as she was frightened of everything. When I took her to the GP today he said she had a urine infection and two of her meds causes amnesia.He said we will slowly change her on to something else and hopefully her mind will return. At this I jumped up shouting Thankyou, thankyou cuddled him and kissed him on the top of his head.Feel bad about it now.

Don't be daft. You've had a horrible time, and you're naturally stressed. The Dr won't think twice about it, in fact he'll likely b quite proud that he;s having a profound effect on your wellbeing. Stop worrying. Hope everything goes okay.

I wouldn't be mortified at kissing the GP on the forehead, I'd be more interested how a consultant missed the infection at the hospital

no need to feel bad treetops. You were relieved. Doctor probably took it in his stried and may have been pleased. If he was not I am sure he would have said "control yourself treetops1"

She said to the consultant I cant wee wee ( she is 37) so I was really upset, his reply yes you can youve forgotten youve been.

It must really awful for you to see your daughter like that, hearing someone can help her would be fantastic so no shame in showing your appreciation!! You probably made the doctors day, so don't feel bad love :-) xx

Interesting article Peter she was taken off carbamazapine because of eye trouble and put on this new one.I see they recomend it for memory loss so that has probably compounded her problems.

Tree....I've done that.....it's a natural reaction and says a lot about you that's lovely.....

I also have a step son who is a doctor.....believe me....they love to give news that causes a reaction like that....don't feel bad at all.....
