I have watched this since the beginning and have got more confused every week. But!!!!! I have a breakthrough. I have just realised the woman with the long dark hair is his wife in the present day and the one with shorter hair is his wife back then! Is it any wonder I have been confused, and it finishes next week.
What was in the envelope at the end? Does anyone have a clue.
Roll on next week to put me out of my misery.
Caran, the envelope contains the evidence that the bent copper didn't hand in and whatever it was,(it looked like button to me) Tony said he knew who it belonged to. x
An old coin chrissa1, I thought it was either that or a button. Think they made it a bit more complicated tonight by adding 2009 into the story. Don't know whether that might have any bearing on the original case. x
It wasn't a coin as such. When the hotel owner was telling Tony about how she had been 20 years sober she showed him the same coin/button. I THINK she said she gets one every year of sobriety, but I'm not sure. So when Tony saw it and knew who it belongs to he either meant her, or someone else who he knows has been alcoholic.
That's exactly what other half said Meglet. Sobriety coin belonging to the hotel owner, though he's thinking of the husband. *** boring if it turns out to be him though. Now, if it's the woman, then that could be a good twist.
They've filmed several endings and whodunit may depend on people's comments. I'm still struggling to follow it. It's obviously a programme that requires a lot of concentration. No nipping out to put the kettle on.
Did anyone notice when Tony was going into the hotel/boarding house there was a man to the left of the entrance having a cigarette. Was that the woman's husband? He looked a bit shifty.
I don't think they have filmed several endings - I know someone who has seen the entire series. He assures me that all will become clear with the final episode
Spoiler alert. Near the beginning of last night's episode there is a flash image of Ollie running up the hotel corridor in his yellow scarf which is so quick you can't see it properly so I paused it. He is carrying a key in one hand with a dangling fob/coin keyring. In the other he is carrying his soft toy. He stops at door No 7 and hits on the door with the toy. His parents were opposite in No 6 weren't they? Plus Tony's wife stops and gazes at No 7 before going into No 6 when they return and have a row. Think that was 2009 when the second boy went missing. I wasn't watching him the first time but the hotel owner is very shifty if you watch it again and Tony follows him into that little smoking room as though he thinks so too.
I'm going to miss the last episode of this but I have a very basic question - Do we know 100% that the boy is dead and this is just a whodunnit - which episode/how did that become clear?
