what was the tv programme called with a guy who used to pawn his gf stuff to play cards .think his name was bobby box??,but hes just turned up in eastenders....

That was "Big Deal". Mid-80s, I have the theme tune on a BBC 7" single!

He was also in another TV series, where he reunited with the woman who'd played his girlfriend/wife in big deal, about a family who fostered kids. Can't remember what it was called, and it is now bugging me. Anyone?

Thanks brachiopod I was watching Eastenders today and recognised the voice and was looking for confirmation it was the voice of Mr Ben.
