I found out that there is a first round of judges before you actualy get to see the main judges (simon etc). So basicaly, they put people through, simply so the public can laugh at them! just thought i'd let everyone know this. (I know because somebody i know auditioned)

I know, i was as shocked as you.
Typical of a TV show. But surely something would have been made of this before. I mean, there have beeen versions before this one
That's shocked me, but then again, TV is pretty false these days.  Better warn me niece because she fancies herself as a bit if a star.  She can actually sing though!

I heard there were two rounds first.  The neice of a bloke I work with auditioned in Manchester and she sai dthat you have 2 auditions before you get anywhere near Simon Cowell and Co.

So whether there is one or two preliminary auditions, yes, they obviously are letting some people through just so we can laugh at them on TV.

Oh!!!  So that explains the question which I was going to ask, but never got round to asking.

What I was going to ask was "How do the three judges on the X Factor see all of the 75,000 people who apply?  If they only get 1 minute each, it would take them 1250 hours to do all the auditions, i.e. 150 working days of 8 hours each."  Somehow I sort-of realised that they wouldn't be at it for 30 whole weeks before the important part of the series starts.
