I would also like to ask dr pop where he found the answer. information is
freely available on parkin raines fiddle playing but also to being an historian a photographer where as willie brand i could find no mention of anywhere.
I estimate i must have spent 24hrs on that question. I know from other years dr pop has been exellent on music questions. apologies to the op for butting in i'm just preparing my list of questions needed now.

Sorry to get back so late but we've had illness in the family. The fiddle players were mentioned side by side in a Northern Echo article( presumably where the compiler got the question from)- I try to find time to look through old echo s- I'm not big on google( having said that, can you imagine how hard this quiz would be without it!!). thanks for the help dr pop sorry i came a cross a bit of a grump asking if
you could provide for asking for a link with raine and brand but I felt a bit like richard kimble searching for the one armed man and just wanted to put
that question to bed after hours of fruitless research.
