Has anyone heard of a type of billet for WW2 soldiers known as a Wimpey Hut? I assume it may have been something like a Nissen Hut but I have been unable to find anything on a popular search engine!
Any info gratefully received. Thank you.

Can't say that I have heard of them, Barquentine. I'd have a guess that they were probably built / designed by the builder George Wimpey though, might be worth while researching his history.
It does appear that Wimpey were heavily involved in building airfields and their associated buildings. These two websites mention Wimpey's activities during WW2, but mainly with airfields. Accommodation for personnel is also mentioned, but not in detail:
