Follow the instructions for 'Uninstalling a desktop program' here:
http:// windows .micros oft.com /en-gb/ windows -8/unin stall-c hange-p rogram
Use them to uninstall 'Adobe Flash Player Plug-in'.
RESTART YOUR COMPUTER! (I've put it in capitals because it's IMPORTANT!).
Go here:
https:/ /get.ad obe.com /flashp layer/
DESELECT THE OPTION TO INSTALL McAFEE SECURITY SCAN PLUS. (That's IMPORTANT too!).
Click 'Install Now' and follow the instructions.
RESTART YOUR COMPUTER AGAIN. (Possibly not required but probably best to do so anyway).
Cross your fingers and try to view a Youtube video.

OK, try number 2 (based upon TB's suggestion):
Try to play a Youtube video.
Right-click on the green screen.
Click on 'Settings'
You'll see a box labelled 'Adobe Flash Player Settings'. It will probably have the word 'Display' shown already. If not, click on the monitor symbol at the bottom left.
Click to remove the tick alongside 'Enable hardware acceleration'.
Click 'Close'.
Press F5 to refresh your screen.
Hopefully that will fix the problem for you.
