I Do remember the first Poldark and thoroughly enjoyed this one, last night.

Having never seen the original nor read the books, i don't know the plot and spent the first half of last night's episode bemoaning the fact that, whilst women viewers had Poldark to look at, all we men had was the rather plain, and a little frosty-looking, 'Elizabeth'. Then along comes Demelza and - once she'd had a wash - the world is a better place once again:-). Incidentally, Demelza is such an unusual name but what's the betting that in 9 - 15 months time it will be quite common. Think Kylie and Kayleigh.

Ken, my children, who were little when the first Poldark was on TV, grew up and had friends called Verity and Demelza. I always loved the name Ross and a friend of mine at at that time wanted to call her son Drake (he'll appear later)

Watched it last night as I recorded it on TiVO. It was brilliant. Can't wait for the next episode :o)

I recall the name Poldark from when I was a kid but was too young to watch the original.
