Half and half, imo. I think it's the trio with Clarkson at the helm and the fact that all three of them have a passion about cars.... especially super cars. Boys like super cars. Personally I'd love to have a Fiat 500...but I still enjoy Top Gear (or did) I'm never going to get round the track in the 'non star in a reasonably priced car' in a Fiat... I like their...

Your caveman credentials are laid out for all to see - forgive me if I fail to sound impressed.
Brilliant.
having waited hours in A&E for stitches on a few occasions I decided when these new little white things came into being I could probably save me some anguish and deal with what is essentially just a cut, they don't hurt so why not?
This same caveman would help (and has) a woman when someone who is even more than a caveman than me...could you say the same , andy?
We are not all the same, you look down your nose at me andy if you want andy...I couldn't care less.

divebuddy - //Despite what Andy says, Clarkson wasn't sacked. That's why the BBc is defending paying him up to the end of his contract. //
You are quite right - I misunderstood the ending of JC's contract, I thought they were just letting it lapse, but I am now aware that they have made a definitive stand by sacking him for misconduct.
//Tymon is a wimp. A fat lip is nothing.//
Rather a sweeping statement about an incident you did not witness - and I refer to my earlier suggrstions that he was maybe required to be examined and his injury recorded in case of further legal action by JC, or the BBC on Mr Tymon's behalf - or maybe even a private prosecution.
//He is also a useless assistant producer. It's his job to sort out things like food being available when required. If he can't manage something as simple as that, he is in the wrong job. //
Another sweeping statement - you have no idea what Mr Tymon's responsibilities were in any connection to the show, or the accommodation and catering provided - so you have no basis for that observation.
//I see that yet another thread has descended into a purely .. what does Andy think of it.. load of nonsense.//
Sorry, I have no control over the 'descent' of threads ...

Talbot - //If the wuss needed a stitch or two, don't you think the media would have fell over itself to let us know?
He would have got a 'there, there' from a nurse and sent on his way. //
This seems to be an afternoon for people to pronounce on issues which they know nothing about!
Once again - you were not there, you didn't see, you don't know.

If Mr Tymon left the hotel by a side entrance and drove himself to the A & E, how would the media know? This is a hotel in the middle of nowhere, and Mr Tymon is not a recogniseable figure like JC, so in the event that any media were there at the time (I am unsure about that), then it is perfectly possible that he left, was treated, and returned completely unnoticed.

divebuddy - // ^^^^^^ but you weren't there Andy, as you keep telling everybody else. //
That is why my posts consist of 'maybe's' 'possiblies', 'could have's' and so on. I am merely speculating, and trying to drive home the point that the sweeping statements that are coming in are invalid.
I completely I accept that I know nothing more than anyone else who is posting - the difference is, I am not stating my posts as if they are facts.

Talbot - // You can see stitches. //
Yes you can - if you are there to see the person with them - and there is no assurance that anyone, media, public, or anyone else witnessed Mr Tymon leaving or returning to the hotel.
//Anyway, I decided to see if you had it in for JC, it appears you do. //
How does it appear so? I don't watch Top Gear at all, but I do have considerable admiration for Mr Clarkson as a writer, I don't 'have it in for him' at all - another unfounded assumption.
//I think you should re-evalute the calling of me a 'caveman' from what I have just read. I would never put innocent lives at risk like you did...ever! //
Where does it say I have 'put innocent lives at risk'...?
Are you sure you are reading what my posts say, not what you think they say?
