In today's programme the question was asked. Which birds were imported from Australia by (I've forgotten the name) she answered parrots. The correct answer was budgerigars. But Bradley said he would accept her answer. I didn't think that was the right thing to do. What do you think?
Technically, budgies are a variety of parrot, so the answer may have been accepted on that basis but I think they were looking for a more specific answer so personally, I don't think it was correct.
Budgerigar
Animal
The budgerigar, also known as common pet parakeet or shell parakeet and informally nicknamed the budgie, is a small, long-tailed, seed-eating parrot.
Fear not. Mr Walsh only accepts or rejects after instruction through his earpiece or at worst after a pause in recording. He's the host not the decision maker.
Well I think it was wrong to accept, that is like saying what type of cat has whiskars and black fur and someone saying a witches cat! or saying my neighbours cat! the fact is only specific to the detail antd would never stand up in a courtroom. like a judge saying, Sir was it your car that was stolen and the defendant saying, well it was a red one and the judge offering judgement in his favour based on inconclsive evidence
Not if the name of the person who introduced them into the country is part of the question. ok is this an acceptable answer? Q, What car was introduced into the UK by japanese firm (forgotten Name) A, GTR? yes the Nissan GTR was introduced into the UK by nissan but if the name was Toyota, would the answer GTR be acceptable because the GTR although not a Toyota but being japanese and a type of car??
