plug for animals who are nervous
I watched a programme a few weeks back, which was showing a plug in device that is good for animals that get nervous through loud noises, Eg fireworks, music etc, think it was This Morning?
Does anyone know what the device is called or where to buy it from, or know what i am going on about? lol
Really hope someone does, because there are a few kids round my area that think it's funny to let bangers off all night, and my dog is terrified!

It releases dog-appeasing pheromones similar to those released by a suckling bitch, which can help to calm animals. They are often best used in conjunction with behaviour modification but may help to settle the dog in general. It's important that you start to use the plug-in in advance of the stimulus if possible (eg a few weeks before bonfire night!).
I tried this with one of mine for general neurosis (not sound phobia) and found it made him slightly worse, but he has fear-aggressive tendencies which can be made worse by DAP as it can disinhibit the dog. I know of several people who have found DAP to be very useful for firework periods.

Hope this helps.
