Hello... It's been YEARS since I was last here... how lovely to be back! But with a query... Can anyone help me? I have two antique armchairs and two footstools from my mother's estate, for which I unfortunately have no room and consequently need to sell. They were re-upholstered professionally about 20 years ago, I believe: but the pieces themselves date, I believe, to at least the time of my great-grandparents in Berlin, if not older. Is there any chance anyone might be able and willing to guesstimate their age/ provenance / asking price? I attach photographs. Thank you VERY much. At some stage, wheels were attached to the chairs: and at a later stage, the wheels were clearly removed from one of them, and the shortfall replaced by an extension of the leg.
The stools are beautifully carved - am I right in thinking they're Chippendale style?
I can't add images here, so I've posted them instead on Houzz - I hope the URL appears, even if it's then necessary to copy and paste it into the bar?
