Coach Trip

Just back from a smashing break in Scotland on the banks of Loch Lomond.

Cannot praise the company highly enough. Comfortable coach knowledgeable and safe drivers lovely room and good food. Entertainment every evening and excursions included. I haven't had a lot of experience of coach trips in the past - just a Christmas Market tour and an overnight break to see the tall ships - as we have always gone by car. I find long trips by car quite tiring now as the only driver and they seem to take longer and longer to recover from. If this trip is an indication of the quality of organised coach trips we will certainly do it again. Anybody else had such a good experience?

I have been on a few trips with GB Tours and they are really good, especially the Isle of Wight trip last year. Traditional roomy hotel overlooking the sea, three course dinner served by friendly waiting staff and entertainment every night I would have been more than happy to pay for. All in all a very enjoyable experience, especially as it included trips out and even an afternoon cream tea. All this worked out at just over £40 per day - beat that!

I too would like to know the name of the company - surely it's not advertising when it's just one mention by a regular poster (rather than several mentions by a brand new poster which may indeed be suspicious).

I thought they were the company. I am up in the highlands in October and often see their coaches. It makes me laugh when I see them in darkest Norfolk. Good to hear of a Scottish company doing good.

I love Scotalnd, but haven't been back there for more years than I care to count, so that certainly seems worth looking into. I visited Skye and the Highlands many times in the Seventies and must psych myself up to return.

I've worked in Folkestone on several occasions, interviewing people on a footpath/cycle path just down the road from a big hotel used by National Holidays, who operate coach tours from (what I believe is) your part of the world, GG.

As a result of that, I've got into conversation with lots of people who've travelled with National Holidays and they've all had nothing but praise for them.

They're also amazingly cheap. For example (a year or two ago) I was meeting people who'd travelled from northwest England for a 3 night stay in Folkestone, with dinner bed and breakfast, in a good hotel with evening entertainment provided each day. (I've stayed there myself; it was really nice). The holiday included a tour of Canterbury and a hop over the channel to visit Bruges. The entire cost was just £99 per person!
