Wimbledon

I have never in my life played a full game of tennis, but years ago I used to enjoy watching Wimbledon on TV. Now I seem to have lost interest, and the same thing has happened with football (I was a keen player in my younger days).
l can't be sure why this has occurred, but I wonder if perhaps the vast sums of money involved today have something to do with it. Anybody else had a similar experience, and if so, do you have an idea as to why?

I get annoyed with all the Murray hysteria whenever he's playing, after every shot he wins we get a shot of his wife, then his mum, then his trainer.

It's the same with all the top players, the camera zooms to their partners, coach or whoever is in their box supporting them. Same for everyone.

I love tennis and watch all the big tournaments. It's the only sport I do like and watch. Hate footie, rugby, cricket, sliding on tea trays down an icy course. As for golf... well, that's not a sport, it's a hobby.

I like tennis and play when I can, and it is a sport I like to watch too.
I went off watching golf some time ago, although I enjoy playing it( If hacking my way around a course is called 'playing' )

Talking of tennis, Federer just taken first set against Murray.

Errrrm....Federer just taken second set.....2-0....playing like a champ, that's why Murray frustrated at the moment.

I could do with Murray pulling his finger out and winning this 3rd set - i have a series of bets resting on a 3-1 win for Federer which will realise me just under £900. Though as long as Fed gets through to face Novak in the final - irrespective of the score - i am assured of £300.

Cheers, yogi, thinking of re-investing some of it on a 5 set final. Always fancied Djoko to win it but he was too short @ 5/4 - that's why i went for the Fed v Djoko final @ 4/1. Think Federer will give him one hell of a game.

That was pretty good odds at 4/1 for a Fed/Djoko final, Ken....hard to call really....they both are on form this year, can make unbelievable passing shots and serve well, and will be a very close match...could go 5 sets...if I was to call it....Federer, but only just. :-)

Just been looking at the stats for both finals; not a great deal of history between Williams and Muguruza, with the American leading 2-1 but, if the occasion doesn't get to her, the Spaniard can take the World No 1 to the wire @ 5/2.

Djoko and Fed are very closely matched, with Fed leading 20-19. It is 1-1 in Grand Slam finals but Djoko leads 9-5 in finals, overall, and has won all 3 games that have gone to 5 sets. I think this one could be another to go the distance @ 5/2.

Both those bets are with Willy Hill but wasn't able to double them up there, so have had to use my Ladbrokes account which only pays 8.75/1 for the double.
