This was essential viewing in my house in the 60's...the whole family were glued to the TV every Sunday tea time, even Dad, although he always said it was "just daft"....he never missed an episode though !

I liked Captain Scarlett too.
Fabulous!

Not everything is 'better' because you can do it with a computer.

My earliest memory is of Supercar ! ::::

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercar_(TV_series)

I had a toy Supercar for Xmas in about 1961.
Thought it flopped on ITV a couple of months ago,or am I confusing it with another show?

Writing as a child of the early 60's, have any of you watched the new Clangers, voiced by Michael Palin. Absolutely wonderful, my 12 year old son thinks I've gone mad.

parsleydumpling....No I haven't but I would like to !..What channel is it on please ?
Mikey,

CBBees (the BBC channel for diddly tots). You may get them on IPlayer , they were on through the summer and are now showing repeats.

They have used the original puppets and stop start animation, Oliver Postgate's son now makes them. Michael Palin is just sublime in his narration.
Parsleydumpling, your son is a good judge of character ...I think the makers of the clangers were mad too.
Tablot,

Wash your mouth out with soap ; -). Give me the old fashioned children's programs any day over the stuff they watch now.
How can SpongeBob Square Pants possibly compare to Trumpton, or The Herbs (note my avatar), or Hector's House!

Signed,

Old fashioned and proud of the Wirral aged 50 11/12ths.
Sorry Talbot got your L and B the wrong way round. Add blind to the old fashioned and proud bit.
My 4+ yr old grandson has watched the new series, and when I showed him the old series on laptop, he wasn't very impressed, and asked to watch the new one.
Mikey! Supercar! Those eyebrows!!
And then there was -- Fireball XL5 - with Syeve Zodiac, Dr Venus and Zoonie (weeelcome ho-oome)
I believe I was in love with Troy Tempest in Stingray, as a eight year old.
I think I was losing my supermarionation religion when Thunderbirds came along.
Ah but 'Long ago and far away, in the Land of Nog'.....surely you loved Noggin the Nog
And very naughty Captain Pugwash, with Master Bates and Seaman Staines hidden in the crew of the Black Pig...

Mosiac...Supercar was wonderful, to a small boy back in the early 60's !

My Grandmother queued for hours in Hamleys to get me that toy. It would be worth a fortune now, if I had just kept it in the box, not played with it, and put it in the attic !

Along with my Meccano set, it was my proudest possession.

You forgot Roger the Cabin Boy !
Some of the 'acting' in today's soaps reminds me of Thunderbirds
Especially the ones with huge injected lips a la Mike Mercury
Roger the cabin boy always smiled, but said nothing......
