The Simpsons - deleted episodes?

There used to be a great episode involving Homer going to the Twin Towers in New York.  However, they stopped showing it for obvious reasons.  Have any other episodes been removed from circulation, and why?

Not sure if they've stopped playing episodes - I was particularly suprised Channel 4 aired the "Streetcar Called Marge" episode the week after the hurricane. Considering the infamous New Orleans song it contains (Stinking, rotten, vomiting, vile, Putrid, brackish, maggoty, foul, Crummy, lousy, rancid, and rank! - being some choice lyrics), I would have thought it might have been better taste to perhaps skip the episode for a while.

i saw that homer and the twin towers epsiode on tv not too long ago, last week i think it was so they havent stopped showing it

I must say, I've never seen it since 11.9.01 so I thought it'd been destroyed or something.

Hi I saw this episode either on BBC2 or Sky one about 2 weeks ago, and commented to my other half that I was surprised that it hadn't been taken off the air, so it is still being shown

I don't want to sound insensitive but I don't see the harm in showing it. I mean, it was made before the incident. It's a bit over the top to pretend that the towers never existed. I thought it was a really funny episode.
