When will it end because I'm getting pretty sick of it.  It just seems like an excuse to make hours and hours and hours of cheap, mediocre, self-congratulatory television, which, for the most part, only reminds me of how crap ITV have been all these years. Or is it just me?

its just one big pat on their own back.

you're assessment is pretty much spot-on - just keep mummbling and shouting at the box! its all that we have - no-one is going to do anything!

I agree, my fifty years seem more interesting than ITV's, they have left the wrong stuff on the cuttin room floor!
The wholr entertainment industry is so in love with itself that it's unbelievable. Awards shows every five seconds for every conceivable facet of programme-making, and congratualtory best-of shows every night. I'd love to stroll into my office today for it to be announced that we're not doing any work today, and instead we're going to slap each other on the back and give each other awards for outstanding achievement.
On this subject, just what is so special about a `live` edition of The Bill to celebrate 50years of ITV.  Is this really considered a treat for viewers?

Ant and Decs Saturday Night Take Away, the best they could produce in 50 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just about sums them up, doesn't it!

Rubbish

ITV has been dying for years...in decline for at least the last 20 years...the amount of cheap trash this channel keeps producing is alarming..even channel 5 would be embarrassed.

I'm surprised that they haven't had some sort of premium rate number, vote for your favourite show of the last 50 years. Unless it's coming up in the next couple of weeks.

I agree we get enough repeats anyway let alone a whole 50 years over and over.

Surprised to see "Men Behaving Badly" not mentioned as a great ITV sit-com. Oh, that's right, they sold it to the BBC after one series. The clots. Still, Who could argue with their  "I'm a non-entity...Get me out of here" cobblers which accounts for the bulk of their recent output.

Can anyone think of one reason why ITV should be so smug? Think of the great tv shows of recent times: all either BBC or Channel 4 made (The Office, Little Britain, State Of Play etc for the Beeb, Shameless, Spaced for 4) or Yankee imports (Friends, The West Wing, 24, etc .)
