When I was younger, I used to casually watch things like 'Survival' on ITV.
But over the past few years, the quality of the BBC's natural history shows have gone through the roof (Patagonia, Africa, Blue Planet, Yellowstone etc).
All of which, I think have been topped by 'The Hunt'.
If you missed it, and have BBC iPlayer - it's worth an hour of your time...if only to marvel at the 'Darwin spider' section.
I don't like spiders too near me but that was just amazing. the whole programme was splendid. want to see it all again as i'm sure there will have been bits I missed.
I've watched nature programmes for over 45 years and i can honestly say that the 'web shooting' by the Darwin Spider was the most amazing thing i have ever seen. Totally mind blowing given that the insect is not much larger than a thumb-nail!
And the camera-work on the wild dog chase was just outstanding. If there's one thing the Beeb really excel at, it's these nature programmes.
Yes...the wild dog hunt had me very slack-jawed. The overhead shots were amazing. I still can't work out whether they filmed from a helicopter or a drone.
