I believe the film is Miracle on 34th Street. I can't find an actor from any of the film versions who fits all the criteria

Yes - he was my first thought too but it's the middle name that's the problem - beginning to think the question setter has got it wrong

Well, yes - he fits with Oscar winner and middle name 'J'.


Could be wide of the mark best I can find.

Also 'John' and 'Jack' are almost interchangeable in some parts of England.
