Some people take the michael , don't they ?
Especially some of the tenants of properties .
Last night there was a family who had not paid any rent to the landlord for nearly two years .
The landlords's wife was ill and had to give up work - he had to give up work to take care of her . There was no rent coming in from the rented property ; which meant that they had to sell their home

I wonder about how they were brought up. I do not do debt and have a really serious conscience .... which I blame my parents for. Having said that at least I can live with myself. But then I suppose they feel entitled. How do you get to be like that?? Must be upbringing.

Don't get me started...one tenant took all the wall paper off because it did not go with her 'decor' then expected me to pay for new carpets because they didn't go with her new paper -then wanted a tree felled as it was blocking the sun for her tan, then wanted a new cooker because the gas one 'frightened' her...The hedge cut down as it intimidated her when she came back on a night in the dark ....and this a single mum on Benefits.
I think it's a very good programme. Some of the bailiffs seem far more caring and helpful than they need to be and they are very knowledgeable of the laws in this area. Maybe you are confusing the programme with one of those "on benefits with 10 kids and 20 dogs, never done a day's work and proud of it" programmes

"Not all of the tenants featured in the series are in receipt of housing benefit. The people who seem suddenly able to find the money to pay are those who have their own businesses."
most find the money when pushed -including one family who owed around £1800 in back rent who managed to find most of it and another seemingly well to do guy whose fancy SUV was going to be taken back by the Bailiffs. Not all the businesses pay either -its a good mix and an eye opener as to what people take on in debt. I thought it would be all low income families getting their 50 inch TV's repossessed but its not.
