Capt Von Trapps tailor ought to be shot - that white suit is appalling. Just look at the gathers on the shoulders...
They are missing lines - there was a bit missing from the speech she gave about the children and it was a funny line to show the captain's personality!
Yes me too, am so enjoying it and singing my heart out with it.
Missed out the song I have confidence which is my favourite and surely they sang My favourite things in the storm?
Brilliant!
Being one of very few people on this planet that have never seen the film, I think its brilliant. And considering its live the actors are doing a fantastic job.
These actors do live performances night after night, in the theatre so, it's not such a big deal for them. The audience is a tad bigger though. Lol.

It's not meant to be sticking to the film religiously. (No pun intended). I'm enjoying it.

Its a triumph indeed; new songs, old songs and a brilliant cast.
it wasn't a film originally anyway. Maybe they've gone back to the original stage version.
I loved it. Have been out on the patio singing Climb every mountain til Mr N thought the poor Spanish neighbours had had enough. Very uplifting!
The suit spoiled it for me....

I could watch it again! Fantastic television which makes a change.
Errrrrrrrrrrrr - how can it be LIVE - there has to be preparations surely.

No, nothing would ever convince me over the ORIGINAL - Julie Andrews and Co. Nothing.

Sorry - no atmosphere - no ambience - no, I kept watching it - I think GOH - Grand Opera House would have more ambience. Very definitely

I found it cringey - OMG - let the Sound of Music belong to Julie - please.
Live means broadcast as it is happening and not pre-recorded.
Tiggerblue - how do you know that you are one of the few who watched it - if you never watched - what are you - one in a thousand or one in a billion
I am sure TIGGERBLUE was not being literal.

Oh no, i disagree. Julie Andrews played the part in the film, but it doesn't mean we can't enjoy other Marias and new versions of the muiscal. This ITV production was a masterclass in musical theatre and proof that modern actors, often known only for acting in soaps, are talented and versatile.

According to Radio Times it is live with a follow up programme tomorrow at 20:00hrs about how it was made.
For the record I would rather stick pins in my eyes than watch it.
Julia Andrews wasn't the original - Mary Martin starred in the original production on Broadway
