Oh yes, really felt for the young man in the car accident. He was lovely but it would take a very special person to take on that responsibility.

Didn't really like the girl they matched him with.

The Downs lady was lovely too, but I did get the impression she just wanted a boyfriend and didn't care who it was!

Didn't watch it, but I can imagine if one's love life has been a 'desert', as I would think would be the case for many on such a show, that one would be happy with anyone who took and interest. Might change one's mind later though.

Also, if one has a choice between two great folk, both equally nice, and one of them has issues, what would make one deliberately opt for the more difficult life; save an inner need to help maybe ? I think most folk tending to opt for the less demanding option is inevitable, and ought not reflect badly on the general public.
