When Did, Breakfast Dinner And Tea Become Breakfast Lunch And Dinner!

When I was a lad in the 50s it was always breakfast, dinner and tea, and maybe a little something for supper if mum could afford it, but this was not often! When did the change take place, did I miss something, was it voted on in the Houses of Parliament?

It's a regional thing as well so maybe you have moved or it reflects the movement of others
It was always Breakfast lunch tea and dinner for us as I remember speaking to my nana about this when I was a child.
It's breakfast, lunch, dinner then tea. I think it's been that way for hundreds of years

no its a history thing

You can do an MA in meals and fings ( MA master of arts you know degree thingey)

SOur mmain course and sweet er sweet course on ly came in around the 1680s and meal times were up the creek as well ( Pepys)
People ( MAs to be that is ! ) trawl thro Jane Austen novels to see what they had to say about meals

we definitely have luncheon around midday but at skool they are served by Dinner Ladies so erm Dinner must have been earlier

It's gone in parallel all my life. I was brought up in a Breakfast Dinner And Tea household but my uncle/Aunt used to do Breakfast Lunch And Dinner. These days I have to try not to do Breakfast Dinner And Dinner.

I doesn't cause any confusion apart from working out who exactly is going to be cooking the meal.

Dinner is in the evening, except for school dinners - which are at lunchtime. Simples.
Petah, unfortunately we haven't much snow; therefore, I'm reduced to eating regular food instead of the emergency rations which you mentioned:)
