this was a film in the 50s where a man was accused of killing another man he was seen to have an augment with, though his body as never found as it was on a dock side and he fell into the water and presumably wash out to sea, the man who was jailed with a life sentence,(around 12 years) when he was released years later he saw the man who he was said to have murdered and of course killed him , can this be feasible, murder in reverse,i'm intrigued :-)can you get a life sentence with no body found

I went and read the description of the film in IMDB and it sounds interesting. I am sure one of the others will be able to answer your legal bit.
The first trial was obviously a miscarriage of justice. The appeal court would quash the conviction. He'd stand trial again for murder.
