Tommy Lee Royce had hidden kidnap victim Anne Gallagher (now a special constable) in his mother's cellar. That's why she told her dad she wasn't afraid of the house.
Must admit, the sound quality was a lot better than in the opening episode.

Didn't see the first series. How did Anne Gallagher escape? IMO the sound was a bit better but I still had difficulty hearing some of the dialogue.

Hello trt I will try but I'm not 100% sure. I think Sarah Lancashire rescued her, and got beaten up herself quite badly. I hope someone else can elaborate for you.

Just looked on google and found that it happened in episode 4. Catherine went into where the girl was being held and freed her, only for Tommy to come in and beat her up, but they escaped into the street. Catherine was badly hurt. Hope this helps.

Oh no, She's drinking again. I havent watched that episode yet. I really didn't want to see her drinking again.
Sarah Lancashire is wonderful in this. As is Siobhan who plays her sister.
