...eight hours in the company of children and young folk at our Eisteddfod.

Poor kids....rich kids....kids who'd been born a bit different.....it didn't matter and it was wonderful.....☺

They listened to each other....applauded the winners....shook hands (that was sweet)......and they thanked us all at the end......

But the icing on the cake for me?... The teenagers.....they were magnificent. They took so much interest in the other competitors.....were so well mannered and respectful, not just to each other, but to the old fogies like me who were making sure all ran to time and in the right order.

The lass who became so overwhelmed....cried and ran off the stage wasn't laughed at or mocked....she was shown such kindness by the other competitors....

'Tis a shame that some of us grow out of that attitude towards others....

I'm shattered... nicely shattered so....a quick supper then off to bed because I have to do it all again from 9a.m.....but this time it's adult choirs.....and last year I recall some fisticuffs there......grown ups, eh?......☺

Wouldn't change today for the world......x

Was there any Guinness involved, gness ?.

Sounds like you've had a great day.

Tony....we are in The Citadel....so no booze...just weak tea and coffee I think it was....but yes.....a fantastic day...x
I find kids to be exhausting and exasperating but the majority of them are good and very keen to learn. Just wait until they are old and cynical like me. :-)

Well that's what bothers me, Wolf...these kids and young people are so kind.... luckily I'm not down for the pensioner's performances......that could be sticks at dawn if the choirs are anything to go by.....x
Gness, sounds wonderful! x

Elina, it was......such talent and such lovely young folk......made me a bit tearful at times......x
My bliss today was discovering ' Chimichanga' on a pub menu. Chimichanga, a crispy tortilla basket filled with a choice of spicy salmon/ rump steak/ chicken fillet/ beef chilli or pulled pork .. (I had the salmon) ... filled with spicy rice and beans with melted cheese & topped with salsa/ guacamole/ sour cream & jalapenos ... a taste explosion!!!!!!!
Gness, it's lovely to see x
Most young people are wonderful - certainly all those that I'm in regular contact with (through family/friends/etc) are lovely - kind, considerate and a pleasure to spend time with.

The problem is that the appetite of the tabloids and other sensationalst media for "badly behaved yoof" stories appears to be insatiable - and this creates a dreadful impression of young people in general.

That sounds delicious, Elina.....we had a great meal out last night for a friend's birthday.....the food was fantastic but the waiter was even better.
We had no idea what he said all night.....we figured he was a Chinese waiter on speed. He wrote out Happy Birthday To You....on bits of paper and made us sing it...lots of time....
....and then he lit the singing flower candle I had brought with an industrial lighter and the lot went up in flames....x
My personal bliss was being able to dry a big load of washing on my outdoor line, for the first time this year.

Everything just smells wonderful when it dries in the sun and wind.
LOL Gness! ;0)
having cake and a good long natter with a dear friend
Question Author
It does, Dave....and before you go out you read a few posts and get a bit down about folk....until....

....You meet the kids.....honestly.....I looked at them today and thought....

You know, Gness....the world will be okay.......☺
Question Author
Hi, Sloopy.....that's bliss indeed. I sometimes get quite busy and bustly... then a friend will arrange to meet for coffee, cake and a natter and I come home feeling wonderful....Gx
Dave, the weather was just beautiful in Manchester today, people were Sat outside drinking.
Hi humbers, you can't beat that!
Question Author
Dave...I love the scent of outdoor dried washing...but I'm a fidget. I pass the tumble dryer on the way to the line and think....Oh this'll save time.....so in it goes.....☺
