Just a couple of points. I the bloke in prison wasn't allowed any phone calls or post, why did he get a few letters, one from his son near the end?

Did it say if the CID bloke had died jumping off the bridge?

I think he wasn't allowed any visits or phone calls and that all his mail would be vetted.
I don't think it did say whether or not the fall from the bridge was fatal - but he sure looked dead in the close up.

All letters are vetted for people in prison, incoming and outgoing.

Not all outgoing mail is vetted, as far as i know, though i stand to be corrected by someone in the know. Mainly applies to those in Cat A, i believe.
