Well, after all the hype and build-up, that was a particularly dull last episode. Hero wins the day, baddie gets his comeuppance. What, no twist, no excitement? Bah!

It was ok. I was worried for Jed. Jed was the only character I did not like. I think she was miscasted.
It watched it with my daughter. We were both exhausted after it. Brilliant and so glad HL got his just desserts.
I thought it was quite complicated enough and pleased in a way that it didn't have a twist. Imagine writing all of that! It has introduced me to John Le Carre and I'll watch his work again. However, it was very convenient for the story that Roper didn't shoot the hero when he had the chance!

Yes, just think how many times James Bond would have died but for these 'conveniences':-/
Thought the whole series was brilliant. The 'Beeb' did a wonderful job of making a rather humdrum Le Carre novel interesting (imho, of course).
It was all a bit ordinary and loose endy. I could watch a lot of Jed wafting about the place though.
I wondered what happened to the first 3 million dollars that Pine transferred? Surely the bad guys would be after him too?
The first $3m went into Roper's business account, not Pine's.
Okay - I get it now!
We cannot have been watching the same episode brainiac ! I was on the edge of my seat throughout and punched the air with a loud 'yes' when Roper had the smile wiped off his face. Superior TV imo.
Who was Jed spying for ?
Jed was spying for her lover - Pine.
Pine transferred the money out of Roper's account, that's why it wasn't there when Sandy checked. I didn't think it was "loosey endy" at all. I think it is safe to assume that Roper got his just desserts from those he 'double crossed'. And if he doesn't, then a second series beckons:-)
Where did Pine put the money? Did he keep it for himself?
If I remember correctly Jed was spying before she got involved with Pine. Wasn't she ?
No, she wasn't. The first girl who was murdered in the Cairo hotel was. That is how Pine got involved.
Yes I know Sophie was murdered by Roper at the beginning, but I just seem to remember Jed was already spying on him. Probably I am wrong.
