I watched it..... found it quite uncomfortable.... too much screaming on the part of the young couple!!
when i read that it was filmed in the 'shaky videocamera' style i didn't bother
It would have been a lot better if they didn't have the silly camera waving upside down and all over the place.

I was expecting a grizzly end, but unfortunately it was a damp squid.

I agree about the filming, didn't like that at all, BUT I thought the ending left things unanswered, was the child being abused or not - we didn't get any answers. I felt I wasted an hour of my time !

I don't think Jackdaw meant it nastily trt ...

Did anyone else think the child WAS being abused ?
I would have thought the writer left it for us to decide, but as the cat wasnt called Charlie, there was a kid left on its own.

True story: I reported a woman for child abuse who lived above me, and used to care for a 3yr old girl 5 days a week.

The child spent most of the day crying, and I could here the woman effing and blinding, and the sounds of banging etc.
When I reported it, they said they couldn't do anything unless they had the mothers name and address.

After a few more weeks, I had a word with the father when he had dropped the child off, and the woman was prosecuted 6 months later after investigations.

Yes, it was left for us to decide, but I didn't want that, I wanted it explained and the child helped.

Glad that little one was helped trt, eventually. You did the right thing to tell the Dad.
One i got my head around the unusual way it was filmed, i thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it to be an excellent and well acted drama. And the ambiguous ending was quite fitting - the author obviously asking us to make our own minds up. What's wrong with that, once in a while. Life isn't all crossed 'ts' and dotted 'is'.

Sorry Ken, I wanted the ending explained to me. I agree the acting was good.

OK Viv, here's what happened at the end..........

The couple as your saw decided to sell, and she had a miscarriage as well.
The new people were unaware what had happened in the past, and settled in happily in their new home.

A few weeks went by and the new guy (we will call him Tom) when he was in the back garden saw a child at the window crying, who he had never seen before.
He told his partner (Mary), who said not to worry her Mum will be there soon.

This went on for months, seeing the child crying at the window, so one night when the family went out, he climbed up the drainpipe, stretched over and prised open the window.
The child was screaming, very scared and covered in bruises, so he climbed in, grabbed him and rushed back to the window to free him from his prison cell.

As he climbed out of the window holding on to the boy with one hand, his foot slipped on the crumbling brickwork, and both plunged down to the ground, the boys head squashed on to the metal spikes of a garden rake, killing him instantly.
Tom caught his foot on the fence which threw him sideways through the glass windows of the greenhouse, slicing into his neck, and decapitating him.

When the police, ambulance and the family had arrived back, Mary was taken to the police station, interviewed and charged for conspiring along with her dead husband, of kidnapping & manslaughter.

No charges were taken out on the dead child's parents, as the PPS thought they had suffered enough.

The house, once again is up for Sale.
