Tipping Point - in a word 'magnets' just like the arcades.
Celebrity Chase - the look of suprise when they have 'selected' an answer.
Deal or No Deal......
Please, tell me more....

;o)
Using your train of thought - ANY of the TV shows could be fixed, as you don't see what's going on behind the scenes and before filming takes place .........
My thoughts exactly Baldric :)
Any where members of the public know the answer to obscure questions that I find difficult to believe anyone knows save experts in weird subjects.
I do think contestants know answers to certain questions. The program producers/directors ask/tell them to act a bit for viewer enjoyment.
Don't you shout at the TV when they start to mull over the wrong answer then go for the right one?
Eggheads gets on my nerves when they go on for ages about how they don't think the answer is such and such because. . . and we get a long story. The contestants and the Eggheads do it, they must be asked to stretch it out to make it more interesting, but it irritates me.
Having once been a contestant on a quiz show (Winner Take All) I can say that at least that show was not in any way fixed.
when I watched the eggheads quiz to choose a new egghead and the contestant had to pick an egghead to help I noticed quite often the egghead didn't know the answers but on the actual quiz they know nearly everything .
Where the Quiz show involves winning money I don't think the contestants wpuld stand for any sort of fixing.
I don't think it's fixed, but sometimes I think The Chaser will pass on a question they should know, to narrow the gap and raise the tension.
I definitley don't think Deal or No Deal is fixed. I don't watch the others.
I am convinced that Shaun, in The Chase, in particular deliberately gets answers wrong sometimes. I remember one recently where he got a very easy question wrong on the round at the table, which let the contestant through to the final. He was confident he would beat them in the final anyway, which he did.
Jo, I think even the chasers are allowed moments when memory goes blank
A previous winner of 15 to one lives up the road from me. He still bathes in the glory, bless him!

I have noticed on Eggheads if things are going against them they are often given a question the average 5 year old could answer.
Balders, These days I think most quiz shows have computer generated questions. The Chase certainly does.
which quizzes are fixed? probably all of them, to an extent. it has to be remembered that they are primarily entertainment, and the prizes handed out are just part of the programme's budget. there shouldn't be any really off-the-wall answers to questions because the vetting process should weed out the complete thickos. but there are! which suggests that some contestants are waved through for their entertainment value - which is a "fix" of sorts.
I was on Fifteen-to-One (the William G. Stewart one) eight times, and can categorically say that there was nothing at all fixed about them - every contestant had to first pass an audition, something I often wonder is the case when I see how poor many contestants are on TV quizzes these days!
I reckon they do audition, but choose 'appropriate' contestants.

For example they don't want your calibre on Tipping Point, Brainiac, as you would clean up.
