Hello Sqad - I have now been diagnosed with severe arthritis in left shoulder which I am sure I have mentioned earlier on. However I took massive pain last Friday and ended in A&E (I may have mentioned all this - forgive dementia) - anyway doctor has recommended heavy medications akin to Kapake and sedatives which should have been emailed to my doctor but when I went down to get them today they were not emailed. Anyway after a few phonecalls they should be with doctor by now-
During research I have done I have found that Golden Shots are excellent and I know they can be £250 a shot - at present I could afford 3 or 4 shots but just wonder what your opinion is.
I did get a Cortisone injection about two years ago but to no avail. Is Cortisone and Golden Shot the same or what.
If they helped I certainly would pay for them
Just your opinion Sqad and thanks for that - I am in so much pain.

thanks woofie - looked at all that today but was too despondent to absorb stuff in.
I just want white is white and black is black
My feeling is my doctor is going to make an appoint with a consultant re the artificical; shoulder - although A&E doctor said it wasn't a walk in the park.
So there you have so many difference of opinions. So time will tell.
Will start from Sqad - bless him xxxxx

No cortisone and "Golden Shots" are different and used for different arthritic conditions.
Cortisone injections mainly for osteo -arthritis and Gold Shot's ( Gold or myocrisin) for rheumatoid arthritis.
Both conditions may affect the shoulder joint, but more commonly it is osteo-arthritis and my bet from your previous posts id that it is osteo-arthritis that is affecting you shoulder joint.
Now.........which is it OA or RA?
If it is OA and you are getting the pain that you describe then a shoulder replacement is your next and final move and this, I would advice. Golden shots in this case would be a waste of money and i would only advice ion the case of R.A.
I hope this helps.

would you mind Cupotee me asking did you get them done privately or NHS.
It is early days very much for me as I did have a cousin who died last year who had 3 shoulders (yes 3) one didn't take - but she never was great with either of them.
Certainly I will do much soul searching and when I finally get referred to the real consultant - perhaps you won;t mind me contacting you re it all. Thanks for your answer.
