Whilst i thoroughly enjoyed the original Swedish version with sub-titles, i do think Ken Branagh does the role full justice. Shame this 3 part series is to be the last - but all good things come to an end.

Myself and Mr Q will be tuned in. Looking forward to the series.
I'm not really looking forward to it as I don't want to witness his decline. I didn't watch the Swedish version for that reason. Will watch and see how it's portrayed.
Thanks for the heads up!

I wonder why it has been reduced to only 3 episodes. I don't recall the subtitled version being that short.

The Swedish version ran to 3 series; the first two were 13 episodes long, the third was made up of just 6 episodes. Our version, (the story-lines of which don't all follow Sweden's version - although the finale is the same as the first episode of Sweden's 3rd series) is now at series 4 and all 3 previous series have contained just 3 episodes.
God, it was awful.

Wasn't brilliant, Svejk, given the high standards maintained thus far. But a million miles from awful, imho of course. Oh, and by the way, no need to call me God, mate, Ken will do:-)
Watched it, whilst Kenneth Branagh is a great actor and portrays the character well this episode was long slow and boring!
I like Ken Branagh but not as Wallander.Much prefer the original version with Krister Henriksson.I'll stick with it though as am interested to see how he portrays his spiral into demantia which KH portrayed so brilliantly.
Sad that Henning Mankell has died and there'll be no more books.
